Privacy & Policy

We protect the people who trust this movement.

My Life My Choice exists to create positive spaces for children, teenagers, young adults, families, ambassadors and communities. This policy explains how MLMC handles personal information, safeguarding, programme participation, media, event registration and respectful communication.

Our Commitment

Privacy With Dignity

MLMC collects only the information needed to respond, guide, register, support and communicate with people who choose to engage with the movement. Personal stories are treated with care because many people arrive carrying pressure, pain, family difficulty, school challenges, pregnancy concerns, unemployment anxiety, health questions or community risk.

Respect

We do not use personal information to shame, expose or judge anyone. Every participant is approached with dignity.

Purpose

Information is used for programme matching, event registration, ambassador follow-up, consultations, safety support and movement communication.

Protection

Access is limited to authorised MLMC administrators, approved ambassadors or trusted programme facilitators who need the information to help.

Information We May Collect

Forms and registrations

When you submit a join form, consultation request, event registration or ambassador application, MLMC may collect your name, phone number, email address, age cluster, city or area, programme interest, message, story, preferred support type and event selection.

Ambassador and chapter activity

Ambassadors may have chapter details, area information and contact details stored so MLMC can coordinate local programmes, participant follow-up and community activities.

Website preferences

The website may use device storage for simple features such as check-in results, challenge progress or popup visibility. This helps the website remember your experience on the same device.

Media and gallery

Photos or videos from MLMC sessions may be used to show movement activity only where appropriate permission, context or public event understanding exists. Sensitive situations must be handled with extra care.

How MLMC Uses Information

To connect people to programmes

Information helps MLMC recommend Study-with-Me, Sakhimpilo & Alibuye Agri, Gospel Nature, Exchange Boat, NutriActive or Enviro-Up-Keep support.

To run events safely

Registration details help teams plan attendance, communicate times, manage capacity and follow up after sessions.

To support ambassadors

Ambassador accounts and chapter information help local leaders organise activity in their area while staying connected to MLMC's purpose and standards.

To respond to requests

Contact and consultation forms are used to reply to parents, educators, partners, young people and community members.

To improve the movement

Non-sensitive trends may help MLMC understand programme demand, age clusters, areas served and the kinds of support people are asking for.

To protect participants

If a message suggests serious risk, harm, abuse or urgent safeguarding concern, MLMC may need to escalate to appropriate support channels or responsible adults.

Children, Teenagers and Safeguarding

MLMC serves age clusters from 9 to 35, including children and teenagers. Because young people deserve special protection, MLMC aims to handle their information with additional care.

For younger participants

Where appropriate, MLMC may involve parents, guardians, schools, churches or responsible community structures to support safe participation. The goal is protection, not control or embarrassment.

Pregnancy and sensitive life situations

Information about pregnancy, health, family pressure, abuse, trauma or unsafe choices must be handled privately and respectfully. MLMC's role is to guide, support and refer where needed, not to shame.

Images of young people

Images should be used in a way that protects dignity and context. MLMC should avoid publishing photos that expose vulnerability, medical details, private distress or unsafe personal circumstances.

Ambassador responsibility

Ambassadors must treat participant information as confidential movement information. It should not be copied, shared casually, posted publicly or used outside MLMC programme purposes.

Sharing, Security and Retention

Sharing

MLMC does not sell personal information. Information may be shared only with authorised people involved in responding, supporting, safeguarding, administering events or coordinating programmes.

Security

Admin access should be protected with strong passwords and limited to trusted people. Exported lists, event registrations and participant records must be stored carefully.

Retention

MLMC keeps information only for as long as it is useful for programme follow-up, reporting, safeguarding, administration or lawful record keeping. Old or unnecessary information should be reviewed and removed.

Your Choices

Access or correction

You may ask MLMC to confirm, correct or update the personal details you submitted.

Removal

You may ask MLMC to remove your information from active follow-up lists where retention is no longer needed for safety, administration or lawful reasons.

Communication

You can ask MLMC to stop contacting you about events, programmes or movement updates.

Images

If a published image raises a privacy or dignity concern, contact MLMC so it can be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed or replaced.

Movement Participation Policy

MLMC is a values-led movement. Participation is built around service, sacrifice, purpose, attitude, emotional intelligence, community care and positive use of free time.

Respectful conduct

Participants, ambassadors and facilitators should speak and act in ways that protect dignity, avoid exploitation and encourage positive choices.

No harmful promises

MLMC offers guidance, programmes and community support. It does not promise guaranteed employment, medical outcomes, academic results or financial gain.

Referrals

Where a person needs medical, legal, psychological, social work or emergency help, MLMC should refer them to appropriate qualified support.
